《爱在炊烟袅袅时》共分为春夏秋冬四部曲，以时下青年共同面对的生活思考为切入点，用传统美食结合中国文化讲述爱的故事，展现了六个当代青年远离繁忙都市，在田园牧歌式的生活中，探寻回归自然的心灵之旅。讲述了心理医生方圆（阎必果 饰）在母亲去世后，回到母亲生前常居的海边小院定居，并结识了一群性格迥异的好友，通过乡村质朴的生活治愈心灵、各自寻找到人生价值的故事。
